Sunny Park brings over 20 years of combined in-house and private practice experience to her role as Fractional General Counsel at Fixer. She provides executive-level legal and strategic counsel with a business-first lens, supporting clients across the fashion, retail, e-commerce, and technology sectors.
Sunny is known for her pragmatic approach to risk, ability to solve complex cross-functional issues, and skill in aligning legal strategy with business objectives. She has deep expertise across a wide range of areas, including commercial contracts, litigation management, intellectual property, marketing and analytics, technology and IT transactions, data security and privacy, employment, consumer-facing regulatory issues, merchandising, supply chain, credit, and crisis management.
In the last 15 years, Sunny held various leadership roles at Saks Fifth Avenue and its parent company Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC), which included brands like Lord & Taylor, Gilt Groupe, Saks OFF 5TH, and Home Outfitters. Most recently, she served as General Counsel and executive team member at Saks, a newly capitalized, tech-enabled e-commerce company created through the spin-off of Saks Fifth Avenue’s digital business. In this role, she was a key thought partner to the C-suite, advising on corporate strategy, governance, long-term capital planning, employee and customer policy, and risk management. Prior to that, she was General Counsel for Saks Fifth Avenue (brick-and-mortar and e-commerce) and Deputy General Counsel for HBC, leading a cross-border team of 17 lawyers in the U.S. and Canada.
Sunny began her legal career as a litigator at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, and later practiced intellectual property litigation and transactional work at Loeb & Loeb, representing clients across the motion picture, theater, and music industries.
She holds a B.A. in Art History from Columbia College and a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she externed for Judge (now Justice) Sonia Sotomayor on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
In addition to her work with Fixer, Sunny co-leads strategy and investment decisions for a family real estate office and will soon be serving on the board of The Bushwick Starr, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit theater organization. Outside of work, in her life as a wife and mom (and dog mom to her rescue Shiba Inu), she is an avid lover of the arts, attends a ton of live shows, has a niche appreciation for traditional hand drawn animation.
